Tim Ellis

Ive just had word from Mick and the latest news is that Tim has a badly broken leg which will need pinning, a broken collarbone, lots of cuts and bruises and the mother of all headaches but he is sat up in bed and is on the mend.
Also he's had 20 x-rays so he'll probably glow in the dark next time we see him.

Mick asked me to pass his thanks on to everyone for thier help and support, you were all fantastic. He also says to apologise to anyone if he snapped at them but things were obviously a bit frought.

Great news that he'll be ok as things could've been a hell of a lot worse.

Best wishes from everyone at Straightliners Tim and get well soon mate

Re: Tim Ellis

Ere, Ere!

The Wife and youngest Son came today and we stood behind the start line to watch this race. My heart was in my mouth when we could see what was evolving. It was bad enough when we thought he was going to hit the board, which he obviously missed. Not so lucky with the grass bank mind, to see his bike flipping through the dust was gutting knowing he was on board.

All the best for a quick recovery Tim.

Re: Tim Ellis

Yes. This happened during the final knockouts this afternoon. As Mr Hanky says, very frightining. I just thank God that the bike went through the barbed wire fence before he did! He's in hospital, but relatively ok. 'Just' a badly broken lower leg and collar bone, as well as cuts and bruises.

Thanks again to everyone that helped out in whatever you could do. You were all stars!

All the Straightliners crew and riders are thinking about you. Get sorted soon Tim, you still owe me a beer

Andy

Re: Tim Ellis

Latest news is he's just going in for the operation on his leg now, and Mick reckons he may be out of hospital in the next 2-3 days. Go Tim

Re: Tim Ellis

Mick & I have just returned home from the hospital where Tim is now in a lot of pain but comfortable ( on some right old drugs) although he did say he would rather be feeling this ****ed on a mountain of ale. He is going down to surgery tonight for his leg to be pined and a cage put on and although very uncomfortable with the broken collar bone is smiling.
We would like to give a big thankyou to all who helped me in packing up all the bits of broken bike and the rest of the gear. I couldn't have done it without you. Your all stars. THANK YOU.
Mick & Becci Ellis
Tim sends his thanks to all.

Thumbs up Re: Tim Ellis

Although i've spoken with Mick & Becci i'd also like to give my love to them all on here too and wish Tim a speedy recovery. I am greatly relieved to know that he is going to be ok .

I'd also like to say what a fantastic job everyone did. The crew were fantastic and knocker (our paramedic) was an absolute star! It is a relief to know we have people like them around us when we are out there racing.

I've always thought the racers and their crew were like one big family but at times like this it goes to prove what a fantastic group of people we race with when everyone chips in and lends a hand when its needed. Big thanks to everyone who helped, it was much apprieciated on all parts.

Jo (Dragon, Crazy Chick) yes i did receive a new nickname on sat night, but thats another story.

Re: Tim Ellis

I would just like to add my thanks to all the crew and to Ambulance Direct. Our ambulance was there at the scene before the bike had stopped which is no mean feat when they have sat at the top of the track for 6 hrs, the response time was about 30seconds if that,, Knocker our paramedic you are a star,, the crew all worked as one the riders that rallied round you are all fantastic,,get well soon Tim ,,,,Blessings from the Bishop

Re: Tim Ellis

Me and Kelly and my Ma and Pa all send our best wishes too , to Tim and his wife and to Mick and Becci , it's an awful feeling rushing up to any accident but when it's someone you know and like it's pretty horrible so we are glad Tim's not as bad as we first thought and hope he makes a speedy recovery. To reiterate what has already been said the medical crew were brilliant and thanks to Dave and all who helped and Hamish for his fence rebuilding skills. I gave Knocker a big hug afterwards , I hope that doesn't put him off coming again !

Re: Tim Ellis

****** hell we left early yesterday and i am glad i did, its ****** horrible seeing accidents like this but well done to the ambulance guys etc and i hope Tim gets better soon, although if he is anything like me the biggest pain of all is realising that the bike that you have spent hours and hours working on and a lot of cash is slightly damaged to say the least.

Re: Tim Ellis

Best Wishes to Tim for a speedy recovery and thanks to Mick for his help at the scene. Thanks also to all that helped Ambulance Direct and of course the magnificent crew.
It was nice to see all the people rallying around to help out in loading the bike and collecting everything together to make things a bit easier for Becci and Mick, once again a testiment to the friendly and big Drag Racing family that you become a part of when you get involved with the Straightliners series.
Me I just did my job! although it is harder when its someone you know, so thanks for the Big Hug! Shaun

Re: Tim Ellis

Thanks to everyone for all their kind words of support to help Tim to a speedy recovery.
Mick has kept Tim informed of all the phone calls, texts email and the messages posted here on the straightliner forum.

He thanks you for your kind messages to get well soon and will do his very best. He said he is much more comfortable today and the broken collar bone is giving him the most discomfort. He should be transfered to Leeds in a few days for another opp on his leg.

Mick spoke to Tim at length today when he visited him at the hospital and showed him the photo's of the bike. When he saw the wheelie bar he said "oooops" Anyway, they are taking about rebuilding the bike but nothing has been mentioned about who might ride it. (And no its not gonna be me!).

He's sure to be back to the track side as soon as he is mobile.

Thanks to everyone, especially you Knocker your the best, never mind a hug, here's a big sloppy KISS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
Becci

Re: Tim Ellis

Thurs day 3rd May 2007.
Hi, I am a long time mate of Tim Ellis. I just wanted to say I went to see him in York hospital yesterday, he was in good spirits but very poor pyjamas,he was sitting up and we had a good laugh. I took him some whisky in which he appreciated very much as I try to avoid buying hm drinks usually . He should be moving to Sheffield today for an operation on the leg if any beds are available there. Get well soon mate as you now owe me several pints!
